President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev has made harsh remarks against Russia which Kremlin authorities can considered as a betrayal. The President Nursultan said that life of Kazakhs (major population in Kazakhstan) was terrible during the “Russian occupation” in Tcarist Russia (19th and begining of 20th century). He said that Russia exported everything that had some value in Kazakhstan, and was leaving just-turned earth and dust and Kazakhs were forced to swallow the dust.
Nursultan added that Kazakhstan had no roads before, because they were the colony of Russia, but now are building a super modern railway. “Oil, gas, gold and silver, it is now ours, and no one will take it away from us” – the president said, and continued – “we do not have anymore to swallow the dust behind other countries, it is not our way of life,” and urged the people of Kazakhstan to be proud with these land resources.
The president said that Kazakhstan is developing the industry despite the crisis, is creating more jobs and new factories and institutions, saying that Kazakhs are great nation, and that Kazakhstan is a country that aspires to become a big and strong.
SEAS Foundation conclusion:
The presence of Russia in Kazakhstan was only to the detriment of that Central Asian country. Similarly, Serbia and Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Serbian Republic, Macedonia, will have more damage from the large presence of Russia in Balkans – presence, which would normally be called “occupation”.
The natural place of Western Balkan countries is in European Union and of course in NATO – which would keep the peace and security of both Serbia and our neighbors in the Balkans.
